There are templates for Microsoft Word and LibreOffice available. Please use these if you are using one or the other application. Otherwise, please adhere to the following formatting guidelines for abstracts and take a look at the formatting and content example.

Layout:

• the abstract must fit on a single page
• page size is A4 (29.7 cm x 21.0 cm)
• margins: 2.0 cm (left/right), 2.5 cm (top/bottom)
• maximum 3 figures

Font:

• font: Calibri or Carlito (downloadable from Google Fonts)
• title: 14 pt, bold, centered
• authors and affiliations: 12 pt, italic – presenting author underlined, centered, newline between authors and affiliations
• main body: 12 pt, section headings: bold
• figure captions and references: 10 pt
• line spacing: single in paragraph, double between sections

Submission:

• PDF format only
• max. filesize: 10 MB

The additional 2-page abstracts for the Paul Callaghan Young Investigator Competition follows the above guidelines except for the length of the abstract, which in this case is limited to 2 pages and the number of figures is limited to 5.
